Sexy Lingerie Shopping in a Retail Store Shopping for lingerie in a retail store can be fun and exciting. If your experience buying naughty underwear has been anything but fun, it may be because you failed to follow a couple of tips that will insure your enjoyment on your next shopping adventure. The first rule is stay away from the malls and major retail outlets. Generally your large department stores have lingerie departments that contain foundations such as bras and panties, all the way to robes and lounging outfits. These stores certainly have their place, but they generally don't carry the selection of sexy lingerie necessary, and they are cold and uninviting. So where do you go? Here is the first mistake couples make when going shopping. Find the local boutiques that exist in most major metropolitan areas, and many smaller communities. You can find them in the yellow pages under lingerie, or in alternative newspapers in your area. You know the ones that are free and are in restaurants and smaller boutiques throughout the country. Why shop here? Two reasons: The first is the type of lingerie and adult products they sell is generally more risque, unique and naughty than found in any mall. Second the atmosphere is generally more conducive to having fun as they are generally smaller, more intimate venues, and their clientele generally is couples, dancers and adults, as opposed to the department stores where everyone from 8 to 80 tends to shop. What do you do if there are no shops in your area? One alternative is to shop online, and that can be terrific as well, but we will cover that later. Second, plan a trip to a town near you that does have such a store that is easy driving distance to your home, and include that store in your itinerary.
Now that you have found the store you need to find out some things about it before venturing in to shop. Call them on the telephone and ask them the following questions. Do they have a website? If so you can spend some time looking at their merchandise and get an idea of what you may like. What are their policies? Most people don't think to inquire about the store policies, and this is a great way to improve the quality of your shopping experience. Do they allow two people in the dressing room at a time? How many items can be tried on at a time, or in totality. Many stores have limits on lingerie, costumes. Do they allow cameras in the store? What items can and cannot be tried on? What is their return policy? Some stores allow and encourage men to go into the dressing room with the woman while others do not. This is helpful as you can help her lace up that corset, and can be exciting as you are watching her get undressed and dressed, as opposed to sitting outside the dressing room while she peeks out. Cameras and camera phones are a great way to increase the fun factor as pictures of how she looked in items she did not buy, or just pictures of her in her underwear in public is a turn on for many. Knowing what can be tried on can also give you an idea of what the level of tolerance the company has towards lingerie purchases as it is necessary to try on all items before purchasing except hosiery and body stockings.
Before you go, keep a couple of things in mind. She should dress comfortably as she will be undressing, and wearing pantyhose, layered clothing and such will just be an unnecessary hassle. Also, give yourselves plenty of time, so know when the store closes as many boutiques have limited hours compared to the malls. Try to avoid busy times of the week, day and year. Your experience will be enhanced if you are alone or nearly alone in the store so as not to cause you to want to rush in and out to get away from the lines at the dressing rooms, or the other customers. Example: don't attempt this the week before Halloween, Christmas or Valentine's Day.
When shopping for the first time in a store, try and keep in mind that the store owner would love you to buy out the inventory, but you may just be looking. When the sales person greets you, it is a good idea to tell her, or him what you are looking for. I say this because the sales staff will tend to leave you alone if they know you are here for the first time, have been on their website, are really just looking and will probably try some things on after awhile. As a store owner, shoplifting is a huge problem, and putting the sales clerks mind at ease will go a long way towards being left alone unless you ask for specific help.
Shopping: Where do you begin? Start anywhere! One of the best things about shopping is discovering new things, silly things, sexy things and lingerie stores have all that. Stroll around and get familiar like you would at any store. Figure out how this retailer organizes her store. Try something on and get his opinion. Don't feel compelled to buy anything, but don't miss an opportunity to get a sexy pair of panties, or a small adult item that you have always wondered about.
